Just get started!!

1. Human Knot

A classic icebreaker that promotes teamwork and laughter as players try to untangle themselves from a human knot.

Requirements:

  • 8 or more players

  • Open space

How to Play:

Everyone stands in a circle, shoulder to shoulder, and reaches across to grab two different hands (not the same person’s). Without letting go, the group must work together to untangle the knot into a circle again. Players can twist, duck, or step over arms to succeed.

2. Sardines

A reverse version of hide-and-seek that gets funnier as more people crowd into the hiding spot.

Requirements:

  • 6 or more players

  • A large indoor or outdoor space with hiding spots

How to Play:

One person hides while everyone else counts. Once the countdown ends, the rest start searching. When someone finds the hidden player, they quietly join them in the hiding spot. This continues until the last person finds the group packed like sardines.

3. Blob Tag

A lively twist on tag where the blob keeps growing as more players are tagged.

Requirements:

  • 6 or more players

  • Large open space

How to Play:

One person starts as the “blob” and tries to tag others. When someone gets tagged, they join hands with the blob. The chain continues to grow as more are tagged. Only the ends of the blob can tag, and the game ends when everyone is part of the blob.

4. Giants, Wizards, Elves

A giant-sized version of rock-paper-scissors with fun movements and team battles.

Requirements:

  • 8 or more players

  • Open space

  • A way to keep score (optional)

How to Play:

Divide the group into two teams. Each team huddles and secretly picks one of the three characters. Everyone meets at the center and acts out their character with sound and motion. Giants beat elves, elves beat wizards, and wizards beat giants. The losing team retreats and the game continues.

5. Balloon Stomp

A high-energy game where players try to pop each other’s balloons while protecting their own.

Requirements:

  • Balloons (1 per player)

  • String or rubber bands

  • Open space

How to Play:

Each player ties a balloon to their ankle using string or rubber bands. On “go”, everyone tries to stomp on others’ balloons while keeping theirs safe. The last person with an unpopped balloon wins.

6. Hula Hoop Pass

A fun, cooperative race to pass a hula hoop around the circle without breaking the chain.

Requirements:

  • 1 hula hoop

  • 6 or more players

How to Play:

Players stand in a circle and hold hands. One player starts with a hula hoop over their arm. Without letting go of hands, the group must work together to pass the hoop around the entire circle. It gets funnier as the hoop goes over heads, shoulders, and feet.

7. Capture the Flag

A thrilling outdoor game of stealth and speed that splits the group into rival teams.

Requirements:

  • Two flags (or similar objects)

  • Open area divided into two zones

  • At least 10 players

How to Play:

Divide players into two teams and mark the territory. Each team hides its flag within its zone and tries to capture the opponent’s flag without being tagged. Tagged players can be sent to jail and rescued by teammates. The first team to capture the flag and return safely wins.

8. Wink Assassin

A sneaky and hilarious mystery game where one player eliminates others with a wink.

Requirements:

  • 6 or more players

  • Slips of paper

How to Play:

Write “Assassin” on one slip and “Civilian” on the rest. Players draw randomly and keep their roles secret. Everyone mingles or sits in a circle, making eye contact. The assassin winks to “kill” others one by one.

If a player thinks they’ve identified the killer, they announce their guess. Guess wrong and you’re out!

9. Parachute Popcorn

A colorful and giggle-filled activity using a giant parachute and soft balls.

Requirements:

  • Large play parachute

  • Soft balls or bean bags

How to Play:

Kids gather around the parachute, each holding an edge. Balls are placed in the center, and on cue, players shake the parachute to make the “popcorn” fly. You can create challenges like keeping all balls on, or bouncing them off in waves.

10. Group Charades

A dynamic version of charades where teams act together and guess together.

Requirements:

  • Slips of paper with phrases or actions

  • Bowl or hat

  • Timer

How to Play:

Split into teams and take turns pulling phrases from the bowl. One team acts out the prompt while the other team guesses within a time limit. Use only gestures—no speaking allowed! The team with the most correct guesses wins.
