Memorial Day is indeed a day of great emotions.
Families and friends have lost their loved ones.
People who decided that they would keep the rest of the countrymen safe and sound are no longer with us.
All that they leave behind are people with broken hearts and distraught families.
Remembering the love, sacrifice, and courage that the hundreds have made for the millions, we bring to you a collection of Memorial Day poems.
1. “The Cost of Freedom”
Freedom rings because they fought,
A price so high, yet never bought.
They stood in courage, hearts so true,
With a strength that only heroes knew.
They left behind their dreams, their lives,
So liberty could still survive.
Their voices echo in the air,
Reminding us how much they cared.
So on this day, we bow and pray,
For those who gave their lives away.

2. “We Remember”
We remember, we give our thanks,
To those who stood in fearless ranks.
Through storm and battle, fire and rain,
They bore the cost, they felt the pain.
A flag now waves where heroes rest,
A tribute to their selfless quest.
Their sacrifice we won’t forget,
A debt we owe, unpaid as yet.
So let us live with hearts held high,
Honoring them with every sky.
3. “A Soldier’s Legacy”
A soldier’s boots now rest in place,
Once filled with strength, now void of trace.
Yet in our hearts, they march along,
Their courage sings in freedom’s song.
Each battle fought, each life laid down,
Built up the heart of every town.
Their names engraved in stone and sky,
A love so fierce, it’ll never die.
So as we stand, so free, so bold,
We cherish them—our heroes’ gold.
4. “Flags and Footsteps”
Footsteps faded, voices still,
Yet echoes of their will fulfill.
The banners wave in red and white,
Their stories dance in morning light.
We gather here with grateful hearts,
For those who played the bravest parts.
They gave their lives, they gave their all,
To answer duty’s honored call.
So as the stars and stripes ascend,
We vow their memories won’t end.
5. “Fallen but Not Forgotten”
They rest beneath the fields so wide,
Where honor, love, and valor bide.
Though silent now, their stories stay,
Forever bright, a guiding ray.
With every breeze, their whispers rise,
A soldier’s heart never dies.
They left this world, but not our love,
Their spirits shine in stars above.
So on this day, we kneel and pray,
Fallen heroes, not far away.
6. “The Brave Who Stood”
They stood when others feared to fight,
With hearts so strong, a guiding light.
They answered when their country called,
With honor high, they stood up tall.
Through battle’s storm, through darkest night,
They fought to keep our future bright.
And though their voices now are still,
Their sacrifice speaks louder still.
With grateful hearts, we raise their name,
To honor them, we do the same.
7. “Beneath the Flag”
Beneath the flag they made their stand,
With courage strong and steady hands.
They walked through fire, they faced the fight,
To keep our freedoms burning bright.
Now draped in stars, their rest is deep,
Yet in our hearts, their names we keep.
No words can pay the debt they gave,
No monument can match the brave.
But in their honor, we will strive,
To keep their dreams and hope alive.
8. “Eternal Thanks”
We wake today because they fell,
Their stories in our hearts still dwell.
They gave their lives so we could be,
A nation strong, a people free.
With folded flags and solemn grace,
We honor them in sacred space.
We light the candles, say their names,
A torch of love, a burning flame.
So with our hands upon our chest,
We thank them all—our nation’s best.
9. “Their Sacrifice, Our Freedom”
They left their homes, their lives, their dreams,
To fight beneath the nation’s beams.
With courage bright, they faced the fray,
And kept our darkest fears at bay.
The world stands free because they fought,
Their sacrifice was never bought.
We hold their memory, strong and true,
In skies so vast, in morning’s dew.
So as the flag waves high above,
We honor them with endless love.
10. “Heroes Never Fade”
Their voices may have faded low,
But in our hearts, their stories glow.
Each star upon the flag so high,
Reminds us of the brave who died.
With every dawn, with every cheer,
We keep their memory ever near.
They fought for peace, they stood for right,
They gave their all in darkest night.
So let us stand and proudly say,
We owe them more than words can pay.
11. “The Price They Paid”
The battlefield now silent lies,
Beneath the vast and endless skies.
Yet echoes of their courage stay,
A price they paid, but not in vain.
With every right that we hold dear,
Their sacrifice remains so clear.
They gave us more than we can see,
They paved the way for liberty.
So on this day, with heads held high,
We honor them with grateful sighs.
12. “A Nation Remembers”
The flag is raised, the bells will toll,
For those who gave their hearts and soul.
They stood where fear and fire grew,
Defending home, the red, white, blue.
The world still turns, the children play,
Because they gave their yesterdays.
No greater gift, no braver stand,
Than those who fought for this great land.
So on this day, we pause and pray,
To honor them in every way.
This Memorial Day, let’s keep the martyred and their families and loved one in our prayers.
If you know somebody who’s lost their son/husband/daughter/wife/brother/sister, etc., send them a poem.
Make them feel that the sacrifice of their loved one hasn’t gone in vain.
