All Potterheads, assemble!!
Only the world’s most boring category of people will not be a Harry Potter aficionado.
I mean, there isn’t a person alive who hasn’t cried over Hedwig, Remus, and Tonks’ deaths.
At the same time, we’ve laughed our hearts out at the jokes of the Weasley twins and the mayhem caused by the Love potion, and blushed at the romantic relationships that’ve blossomed between our favorite characters.
Inspired by the fun and comicality of the characters, we’ve taken a few pages from the Harry Potter books and borrowed a few mystical items from the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes and have conjured up 15 hassle-free and effortless game ideas for your next House party.
1. Quidditch Toss
A land version of the famous wizarding sport that gets kids running and cheering!

Hula hoops or pool rings

Stands or poles to hold hoops
-
Balls (ping pong, tennis, or foam)
How to Play:
Set up the hoops at varying heights to mimic goalposts. Divide the kids into two teams and let them take turns tossing balls through the hoops to score points. Assign one kid as the “Keeper” to guard the hoops. The team with the most goals wins the match!
2. Potion Making Station
Let little witches and wizards brew magical (and safe) potions with fizz and fun.
Requirements:
-
Baking soda, vinegar, food coloring
-
Jars, droppers, glitter, spoons
-
Optional: essential oils or small toy “ingredients”
How to Play:
Set out ingredients labeled with magical names like “Dragon Tears” (vinegar) or “Fairy Dust” (glitter). Kids mix and match their potions using droppers and spoons. Watch the magic bubble and fizz as they create colorful concoctions!

Large poster of Harry Potter

Lightning bolt scar cutouts

Toy wands or DIY wands
-
A list of simple spells and motions

Giant dice or standard dice
-
Fortune cards or silly predictions
-
